在華理克 (Rick Warren) 的著作「標竿人生」 (The Purpose Driven Life) 中，他寫到基督徒的生活有以下五個重要的目的，每個目的都是必要
的：
1 － 敬拜
2 － 事工
3 － 傳福音
4 － 團契相交
5 － 門徒訓練
第三項「團契相交」在英文中是 " fellowship"。我們覺得
"fellowship" 也可能是「深厚的關係」。喜樂新生命基督教
會的目的是幫助人跟上帝建立深厚的關係，也跟別人建
立深厚的關係。 標竿人生一書的封面上說：「我究竟為何而
活？」 你認為呢？

究竟為何而活？這不是容易回答的問題，特別是在現代忙碌的社會裡，生活被日常的工作及瑣事所充滿，活著的目的似乎變得模糊而不清。
對我而言，我們的生命是上帝所造，活著的目的應該就是盡心盡力服事上帝，榮耀上帝吧。
從聖經彼得前書4:10-11或許可以提供一個努力的方向，這也呼應Rick Warren的標竿人生中所提到基督徒生活的五個目的。

各人要照所得的恩賜彼此服事，作神百般恩賜的好管家。若有講道的，要按著神的聖言講；若有服事人的，要按著神所賜的力量服事，叫神在凡事上因耶穌基督得榮耀。原來榮耀、權能都是他的，直到永永遠遠。阿們。
1 Peter 4:10-11
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
